Clindamycin cream is a topical antibiotic medication that is used to treat bacterial vaginosis.

Clindamycin cream works by stopping or slowing the bacteria that causes bacterial vaginosis, effectively preventing its growth and treating the infection.

Request a prescription for clindamycin cream by completing an online health consultation to share important information about your symptoms, health history, and any medications you take. If you are an existing Nurx patient, you will log into your account to submit your request. A licensed medical provider will review your health information and prescribe clindamycin cream for you, if medically appropriate.

Your Nurx medical provider will send the prescription to a local pharmacy of your choice for pickup. You will pay for the medication at the pharmacy, either with insurance or out-of-pocket. Your online consultation with a Nurx medical provider for a clindamycin cream prescription costs $65, which you pay when you submit your request for care. This is not covered by insurance. The price of your medical consultation covers a medical provider licensed in your state evaluating your symptoms and health history and writing a prescription (if medically appropriate). Also tell your provider if you have or have ever had inflammatory bowel disease or severe diarrhea caused by an antibiotic. You should avoid vaginal intercourse, tampon, douche, or diaphragm use while using this medication.

As with most medications, clindamycin cream may cause side effects. Common side effects include diarrhea and upset stomach. More serious side effects can include vaginal pain, changes to your vaginal discharge, painful urination, menstrual problems, and abnormal vaginal bleeding.
