Mono-Linyah

Mono-Linyah contains two hormones that both prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary) and fertilization. Fertilization is prevented when the cervical mucus is thickened to prevent sperm from reaching the egg. Mono-Linyah also changes the lining of the uterus to prevent a fertilized egg from attaching. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterine wall, it passes out of the body.

Mono-Linyah is available by prescription. Your insurance may cover your medication. Check with your provider to see if Mono-Linyah is covered under your plan.

Combination pills can sometimes disrupt the metabolism of medications. Consult with your doctor before starting Mono-Linyah to be sure the medication doesn't interact.

Cardiovascular and stroke events have been associated with oral contraceptives. If you have been diagnosed with coronary artery disease or uncontrolled hypertension, you may be at greater risk, especially if you are over 35 and smoke. While allergic reactions are rare, seek medical attention if you experience swelling of the neck or throat, pain in the chest, or trouble breathing.

Mono-Linyah does not protect against sexually transmitted infections or diseases.

Yes! Because Mono-Linyah is a combination pill containing progestin, it can serve as an effective acne fighter and preventative. Mono-Linyah works to reduce the amount of sebum produced which results in clearer skin. You may have to take Mono-Linyah for a few months before you see results.

While no birth control is 100% effective, with proper storage and use, Mono-Linyah is a safe and effective method of birth control. If you miss a dose or are late taking your medication, use backup birth control until your next cycle to ensure you are fully protected.

Mono-Linyah may decrease milk production. Since a small amount of the medication can pass into breast milk and cause undesirable effects, it is best to use an alternative birth control method until you have weaned your child.

When used correctly, Mono-Linyah is a safe and effective method of contraception. It is important not to miss any doses and to take the medication at the same time every day. Missed or late doses can compromise your protection. If you have missed a dose, or have been late taking your medication, consider backup birth control until your next cycle. Mono-Linyah does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases and infections.

Store Mono-Linyah at room temperature (68-77°F) and keep your medication away from sunlight.
