Bright Spots in a Dark Year
Our CEO reflects on the head-spinning, challenging, and inspiring events of 2020.
Nobody is sad to see 2020 (finally) end, but as we at Nurx look back we’re focusing on the bright spots — all of which involve being here for our patients when you really needed us.
This year the Nurx mission of expanding access to essential care took on a whole new meaning. We’ve always focused on removing barriers of cost and convenience, but suddenly many faced the new barrier of being unable to safely leave home to get needed medication and tests. Our dedicated team of medical providers worked around the clock during spring stay-home orders, evaluating patient cases, then writing prescriptions and ordering tests for thousands of new patients while continuing to provide care for our current ones. We also expanded our services this year (not a moment too soon), making herpes treatment and care for migraines and chronic headaches available from the safety of home.
The challenges of 2020 have shown that high-quality telehealth providers like Nurx are more than a valuable option for patients, they’re an absolutely essential component of the healthcare system. It’s been an honor to be part of the solution during this tumultuous and tragic year, and we’re entering 2021 with extra resolve to ensure our amazing provider team and innovative telehealth platform deliver care to more people, for more conditions, in the year ahead.
Birth control from Nurx costs as little as $0 with insurance or $15 per month without insurance.
I’m extremely grateful for our patients, healthcare providers, and everybody who makes our work possible.
Wishing everybody in our community a safe and healthy new year!
