Nurx offers at home test kits for common STIs for as little as $75 with insurance or $150 per month without insurance.
Getting tested for HIV is voluntary and can be done through confidential or anonymous testing.
Nurx offers confidential HIV testing. This means that your name and other identifying information will be attached to your test results. The results will go in your medical record and, depending on the law where you live, may be shared with your healthcare providers, your health insurer, or others as required by law. Nobody else will find out unless you choose to tell them — the results are protected by privacy laws, and they can be released only with your permission.
Anonymous testing means that nothing ties your test results to you. When you take an anonymous HIV test, you get a unique identifier that allows you to get your test results without the test being tied to your name in any way. However, these tests are not available at every place that provides HIV testing and are not offered by Nurx. To find out more about available anonymous testing, visit the website of your local health department.
