Duloxetine (sold under the brand name Cymbalta) helps relieve excessive worry and tension. It belongs to a class of medications called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). Duloxetine affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause depression or anxiety symptoms. It also is used to treat pain and tingling caused by diabetic neuropathy, as well as fibromyalgia. Duloxetine helps most people with depression, but it may take several weeks before you feel its full effects.
